Beachcomber Jacket--Wake Foresr
Shop your fabric stash for lights and darks or your favorite fat quarter bundle to make this gorgeous Beachcomber Jacket. This two-day workshop uses the Laundry Basket Quilts pattern with variations to customize your own spin on the original star designs.
Classes start promptly at 10, but the shop opens at 9:30 for setting up your sewing area. You can choose in person or virtual options for your class sessions. Supplies are listed below.
Materials Needed
- Beachcomber Pattern LBQ-0922
- 30 fat eighths (9”x20”) of multi-color dark fabrics
- 7 quarter yards (9”xWOF) of light fabrics
- Crew neck sweat shirt one size larger
- 2 ½ yards of lining fabric
- ¼ yard dark fabric for binding
- Thread to quilt and construct jacket
Supplies Needed
- Sewing Machine in Good Working Order
- Optional-A serger in good working order to construct the jacket
- Rotary Cutter
- Acrylic Ruler-6 ½ x24 ½ or 8 ½ x24 ½
- Optional Acrylic Ruler-6 ½ square
- Optional Acrylic Ruler-12 ½ square
- Self Healing Mat
- Quilting Pins
- Seam ripper
- Sharp fabric scissors to cut apart sweatshirt
- Hand sewing needles if sewing binding by hand
- Curved safety pins
- 1/4” foot with or without guide
- Optional-Wonder clips for binding
